Hi,

Hope someone can kindly assist me on my question below.

I've MQ 6.26 installed on a HP-UX ia64. Websphere app is installed in a separate HP-UX ia 64 box.

I've a requirement to add the following info to the incoming MQ XML message before the xml message is passed onto the JMS Queues.

Messages must be in BytesMessage format.
Interfacetype (the interface type is MAXIMO)
SENDER (the name of the external system)
INTERFACE (the name of the interface)
queuename (the JNDI name of the queue being send to)
MEAMessageID (a unique message ID)

Can someone kindly help me on what is the appropriate tool or language to add the MQRFH2 header message? (i.e. Java, Pro C, unix shell script, etc...). I don't think java is installed on the MQ unix server. I do know that Pro C is installed and being used in the MQ unix server. I don't mind having to request from our side for java to be installed if Java is the right approach.

Also, depending on the suggestion, is there a sample code that I can be provided?

Thank you so much in advance for assisting.

Cheers,
WSO

Install Java & use JMS, or stick with C & use XMS.

I'd also question your decision to send XML as a ByteMessage - XML is text.

There are some programs out there (axis etc...) that treat the soap message as a Bytes message, because of the possibility of a MIME multipart message where one of the components could just be text and the other an attached pdf file for instance.

Have fun
