Hi guys,
I know this is kinda silly question. But is there anyway(apart from error logs) to know when the qmgr was started. I guess we can find the start date from ps on mq process but not sure which process is reliable for this purpose?
Thanks

Thanks peter I forgot that option. But sometimes I endup working with some other team's qmgr where logs are overwritten with no event logging enabled. How about amqzmuc0 which I believe should be running right from the moment qmgr started and technically can't respawn.

Is that the date that crtmqm was run?

Or the date that strmqm was run?

Which one is being asked about?

I have no idea from what angle this can be confused with qmgr creation date? but anyway, vchenna nvm this question is for mq gurus. not for newbies like you and me

yeah that flies i know.
I am tired of someone who just joined mq123 class trying to confuse the whole thread. Isn't it best to read the forum for a while before posting 'where am i' kinda of posts.

There are a number of processes that can be considered 'equivalent' for purposes of determining when the QM started by looking at the output from ps. The logger process, the critical utility task manager process, the channel initiator process, etc...

However, which processes those are depends on what version of MQ.

A msg is written to queue SYSTEM.ADMIN.QMGR.EVENT when the queue manager starts, the msg timestamp tells you whem the message was created.

Regards
