Hi
I want run a second different broker versions on one machine (6.0 and 6.1) and it seems that there will be not much problems by config the mqsiprofile(s).
My Problem is that i havent a maiden system (aix). I want to know which ressources are included in the $MQSI_REGISTRY=${MQSI_WORKPATH} (default /var/mqsi/) after the installation of the broker software (before create the broker)?
For my second broker i want to use a different workpath. which ressources/folders (odbc,...) have to be already existent in the workpath to create the broker? or will all neccesary ressources/folders set up with the creation?
Thanks. |

Searching this forum would reveal that this same question was asked quite recently.
Have you done that? _________________ WMQ User since 1999

Every time you reinvent the wheel the more square it gets (anon). If in doubt think and investigate before you ask silly questions. |

Yes I did and found no answers about the folder structure after the installation and if some folders have to exist for the creation...
At the moment i cant test these things because i havent no system, where isnt already a broker installed.
To rephrase:
Is there any folder structure under the mqsi worpath after a new installation of a (6.1) broker? Or will all needed files and folders created with the crt of the broker? |

The documentation in the InfoCenter is very clear on what the system changes are after installation, and what the contents of the workpath and registry are.
It seems intensely easy to just TRY this and see what happens.
But the answer is "no", you do not need to manually create anything under the workpath. But the full path to the workpath location must exist, and the workpath location itself must be modifiable by the user running mqsicreate* and by the service user being specified on the -i option to the mqsicreate*. |

Thank you jeff.
How I said. I have to be sure what will happen, cause I have not really a system to play.
Next week i will try it.
PS:Of course I read the doku but saw only how to configure the environment for parallel version but not what will happen after crt. |
