We have a svrconn for the app1 team, and with the MCAUSER configured to an id "app1", which just has full access to their own mq objects. And I found I got "Not Authorized" when I tried to connect to the svrconn via MQ explorer. So my question is: If I want to use MQ explorer, does the id I configured for the MCAUSER have to be in mqm group or mqm itself?

Thanks!!

ok, i get it. If the MCAUSER is not an id in mqm group or mqm itself, then we need to setmqaut for some system queueus and the the queues you want to view/operate as detailed in the mq infocenter. Not so straightforward.

No.

There were issues with the 6.0.0.0 release of MQExplorer such that nothing you did would let you use a non-mqm user.

The rest you say is true - you do need to manage MQ authorities to allow the privileges you want non-mqm users to have. But that's obvious.

i am using version 6.0.0, and there is a page detailing how you can configure the queues and how you can use MQ explorer in the mq infocenter, and everything works ok for me now, i can use non-mqm id to manage the mq objects, but just not convenient as i thought.
