Hi
I am running wmqi2.1 with CSD03 and all of a sudden the data type drop down list when creating an element in a new message set is empty. Everything was fine for a while after the upgrade. I can import the C structure to create the elements, but I do not understand why I cannot add a new element this way. This only occurs for new message sets. Existing message sets do not have the problem (drop down list is there). Any ideas are welcome.
regards

Do you mean that Element is not expandable (using the '+Element' symbol which is usually displayed after you have complete a message set build)? If so, I have experienced a similar issue with WQSI 2.10. I'm not sure why this happens in 2.10, but here's how I work around it:
One suggestion is to save the message set to the workspace before removing it from the message set panel? Sometimes this works. When it does not, I simply re-load the elements.
Expand your Message Sets view, right-click and select Elements, Add to Workspace, Element. The elements you previously loaded should appear. Highlight the elements you need and select Finish. Now you should see +Elements and this is expandable to display your re-loaded elements.
hope this helps,

I have not experienced that problem , My problem is when I try to create a new element (on a new messageset) and I need to add the data type of the element via the drop down list (which does not exist).

when you create the new message set, did you Add, Physical Format, and then choose and format (CWF, Tag/Delimited, or XML depending on your application)?
when using 2.10 to build message sets, add a physical format before importing or creating new elements. (Physical format was not a feature of 2.02) |
