We have a QMGR(5.1) on a unix box. Client applications from 4 different NT machines write/read messages to these QMGR's queues.
Recently we have a problem with the client loosing connection to the QMGR quite frequently. The only solution is to stop the client and restart it. Unfortunately the client application was not coded to try to reestablish the connection if it looses the connection. It runs on an assumption that once it connects to QMGR, it will stay connected until it is stopped. This has worked for more than an year; The problem started recently.
Is there a way to fix this problem without changing the application. Is there any parameter that can be changed to accomplish this. If I have to try changing the heartbeatInterval on the SRVRCONN, would that be of any use. Right now it is set to 300, if I have to change, what would I change it to.
