I took some MQ Series course over a year ago. I haven't been paying much attention to the product anymore but recently have been reading some of the online publications. Is Websphere MQ and MQSeries pretty much the same product? I'm not sure if I should continue reading the Websphere MQ system admin guide or the MQSeries System Admin guide in order to prepare for the 095 exam?

Thanks

Recently IBM's been renaming everything it sells. MQSeries became Websphere MQSeries

Some IBM Marketing genius decided that MQSeries was becoming too commonplace, almost a household name, so decided to change it to confuse everybody - but it makes it look like that they've actually come out with a new product (cynical or wot?)

Version 5.3 got renamed Websphere MQ, but is functionally the same (okay there are enhancements). IBM "guarantees" that every version of MQ will be able to talke to every other version. So, in answer to your question, take the Websphere MQ study path - this is the latest version. Good luck!

Thanks guys. I'll stick with the WebSphere MQ guide. The MQSeries looks almost the same except for a few differences.

Thanks again.
