I had installed MQ5.3 at production server using local id "musr_mqadmin". The id was manually created.
1. Sometimes when I launch MQ explorer, it will hit error message "Fail to start MQ Services Objects. Please check username and password.." What is the possible cause for this error? Nobody modify this id.
2. When other application executed with domain id need to call MQ component, it will hit error "The application-specific permission settings do not grant Local Activation permission for the COM Server application with CLSID {XX} to the user Domain\UserId, This security permission can be modified using the Component Services administrative tool."
Anybody has idea for my inquiries? |

Use the config wizard again. This should fix those pesky issures.

May I know which config wizrd that you mention? Prepare Websphere MQ Wizard? |

Upgrade to MQ V6 or MQV7

That is the reason I seek for help from this forum, hope that somebody can give me some idea.
After I installed it last week, and gone through the testing with France MQ server last week, this week it giving me the trouble.
Error (1) often occur now.

Saying "I have to use v5.3 because I have to use v5.3" is pointless and circular reasoning. If (as I presume) you're being told by management or a client to use v5.3, what is the requirement there?
You should also point out to whoever is pushing this requirement that by continuing with v5.3, they are increasing the risk that something bad like this will happen. Unless they never plan to patch or modify their Windows version. In which case even worse things are likely to happen!

I think I am here to look for solution, not the purpose of using MQ 5.3.
I also know that MQ5.3 is no longer support by IBM, that is why I am here.
I am just a developer. Client already use MQ5.3 for old machine, now they ask us to migrate it to another new server. |

Then discuss it with their WMQ Admins - surely they have one/some of those?

I think you got this error when you logged off and then log-in!!
Try to delete your id from mqm group and then add it back again. If it's not already there, add it.

And hence this is the right time to ask your client for MQ upgrade. What will you do if MQ on your production server throw some unusual error and you can't solve it in time.. ? You can't go to IBM then.

So why are you migrating it? Why isn't the admin migrating it?

They do not have MQ admin, therefore ask from vendor.. |

Then all the more reason to push for a migration to at least V6.0 - you have a duty of care to the client, and that cannot be fulfilled by using an out-of-support version. This is your opportunity to educate the customer, and protect your back.

So what part of "they're too cheap to employ an admin" is your problem?
Seriously, say you fix this and then 2 weeks later another, unrelated, WMQ problem arises? Possibly after the Windows admin has run an update on? Will you get called back to fix that? Will you be blamed if the system is down for an extended period because it's a compatibility problem & you can't get IBM support?
This is potentially a rod for your own back. As vendor, you have a perfect right to insist on a working, supported platform for your product. You certainly don't want to branch out into unofficial WMQ admin & support.
