I came across this link: http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=171&uid=swg21253427
while planning our Linux x86 upgrade from 6.0.2.4 to 6.0.2.6

When I run the rpm -q -a | grep MQSeries command I see that we do not appear to have an SDK installed.

$ rpm -q -a | grep MQSeries
MQSeriesMan-6.0.0-0
MQSeriesSamples-6.0.0-0
MQSeriesServer-U808001-6.0.2-1
MQSeriesIES30-U808001-6.0.2-1
MQSeriesConfig-U814336-6.0.2-4
MQSeriesRuntime-U814336-6.0.2-4
MQSeriesServer-6.0.0-0
MQSeriesConfig-6.0.0-0
MQSeriesJava-U808001-6.0.2-1
MQSeriesConfig-U808001-6.0.2-1
MQSeriesMan-U814336-6.0.2-4
MQSeriesJava-6.0.0-0
MQSeriesSamples-U808001-6.0.2-1
MQSeriesJava-U814336-6.0.2-4
MQSeriesServer-U814336-6.0.2-4
MQSeriesRuntime-6.0.0-0
MQSeriesIES30-6.0.0-0
MQSeriesRuntime-U808001-6.0.2-1
MQSeriesMan-U808001-6.0.2-1
MQSeriesIES30-U814336-6.0.2-4
MQSeriesSamples-U814336-6.0.2-4

However, when I look at the library which the link mentions as the install directory: /opt/IBMJava2-142/ I see "stuff" in there, binaries, etc...

Also, when I repeat the rpm -q -a | grep command searching for SDK, I get the following:

$ rpm -q -a | grep SDK
IBMJava2-SDK-1.4.1-2.0
IBMJava2-142-ia32-SDK-1.4.2-6.0

Which leads me to believe maybe I do need to follow the directions in the link to uninstall the existing SDK and reinstall from the software provided in the new version of MQ. The only problem is, the sofware for MQ 6.0.2.6 which I downloaded today only contains the MQSeries SDK:

MQSeriesSDK-U818989-6.0.2-6.i386.rpm

It does not contain the IBMJava SDK....I'm a bit confused.
Does this make sense to anyone?
Thanks in advance,
Larry

I raised a PMR with IBM on this issue and they confirmed that latest WMQ 6.0.2.6 support pack does not ship the Java SDK. This is due to certain changes in the corporate policies of shipping SDKs with WMQ fixpacks.

However the Java SDK from a previous fix pack (one prior to 6.0.2.6) would continue to work. The latest one is included in FP 6.0.2.5.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the information. I was going to give it until next week and open up my own pmr if no one responded.....I'll download 6.0.2.5 and pull it out of there.
Cheers!
