I have a small Java program that connects to a queue manager (V6, running on Windows), PUTs a message on a queue, and disconnects.

It was written using MQ6 Client Java libraries - testing shows that it takes around 1.5 to 2 seconds to do this if I'm using an SSL connection.

As a test, I downloaded the MQ7 client, and swapped in the V7 JAR files - the application remained unchanged.

It now takes 10 to 20 seconds for the same client to connect to the same server.

What gives? Does Client v7 just not work well with Server v6, or is it an environmental issue? Does anyone have any ideas where I could strat looking?

Thanks,

Greg
