They key one that should win any argument if you are thinking of installing either of them is that MQ 5.3 is no longer supported any more (but 6 is).
This should be all you need to know. |

Market reasearch shows that 8 out of 10 WMQ users, who expressed a preference, could tell the difference. Though other research indicates that 7 out of 10 statistics are misleading.
If you're in fact asking what the differences are between these 2 versions, I'd give the "What's new" section in the v6 documentation a try.
