My PC has XP SP2 and WMB 6.0.2 installed (toolkit, runtime), DB2 8.2 and MQ 6.
I am now trying to install WMB 6.1.0.2 (in a separate directory from 6.0).
The runtime installs OK but then WMB 6.1 toolkit install starts the IBM installation manager which then terminates without doing anything.
There is nothing in the C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\IBM\Installation Manager\logs
Any idea - this is really annoying me? |

Does that work?
Seriously. I know you can co-exist WMBv6 with earlier versions, but will it co-exist with "itself"?
Even with the WMBv5 / v6 I thought you had to move from one GUI to another, and the v6 tooling could control a v5 runtime.
Have I finally cracked? _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

Vitor - he's trying to coexist 6.0 with 6.1. This works fine.
zpat - you might need to download an update for Installation Manager...? Confirm it's at the 1.2 level...
Also, quit anything that's running eclipse or java, and see if the Installation Manager process starts anything that stays running without showing a visible screen.
And, alas, confirm that you're trying to run installation mgr as a user that has rights to install things.. And then try starting installation manager from a command prompt rather than from the GUI - you may get more output about what's going on that way. |

It's OK, I have finally made it work by browsing the DVD directory
D:\Message_Broker_Toolkit_V6\disk1\IBMInstallationManager
and running the install.exe from there. Don't ask me why that works! |
