A few moments with the forum search will pull up the many previous discussions on this subject, which I don't propose to repeat in full here.

In summary however:

If the messages are non-persistent you can't because they're not logged;
If the messages are persistent and you're using circular logs you probably can't;
If the messages are persistent and you're using linear logs you probably shouldn't;
If you're determined to do so you'll probably need a commercial tool (like the Cressida offering) to do it. Nothing in the base product will do it, and the format is not published by IBM so rolling your own application will keep you quiet for ages.

The key point here is you should never need to do this. There is no reason to do this, despite a number of site managers believing there is one.

- Cressida's ReQuest does support Circular Logs too
- Cressida's ReQuest does support many platofrms including zOS, AIX and Windows
