That's not an MQ error number. It might be a message number.
But seeing that you not said what OS, what version, what version of WMQ, what maintenance or when this error occurs or where it's thrown it could equally be part of a phone number!
Some information please!! _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

You just don't get crystal balls the way you used to. Not since broad-spectrum antibiotics. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

I mean, I'm sorry, it's a bad day in the day job and I'm slightly less patient than normal but seriously. This is one step removed from:

There's nothing to go on here. Nothing to work with.
Alright, in a spirit of honesty, I'll ask: was I overtly harsh?

No, you were not overtly, or overly harsh. Crystal balls and a ouiji board wouldn't help with this one. _________________ It's puzzling, I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like this before...and it's hard to soar like an eagle when you're surrounded by turkeys. |

My crystal ball has a hex on it. How about:
Reason Code 2195 x'893'
MQRC_UNEXPECTED_ERROR
The call was rejected because an unexpected error occurred.
Completion Code: MQCC_FAILED _________________ Glenn |

Plausible.
If the original poster confirms this, and answers my other questions, we might be able to move on. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

Maybe you guys can help me then. I have the same error message and have not been able to fix it.
Running w2k3 x64 std sp2
MQ version 7.0 w/ fix pack 7.0.0.1
I set it up using a contact admin share for the Data and Logs and when I am trying to start up the queue manager I am getting:
Websphere MQ queue manager 'CompanyName.Queue.Manager' starting.
Websphere MQ was unable to display an error message 893. |

Even if this isn't you're problem, this is not a good idea. These files should be local to the queue manager. Network issues that even intermitantly prevent or slow access will have a noticable effect on your queue manager. And not a good one.
Following the plausable theory this is a 2195, check to see if an FDC file's been thrown for the error. Also check that the user id that's running the queue manager (and services) is not a domain user, and has appropriate rights.
Also make sure this share is set up correctly & reliably. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

Moved the data and log files to a local share and Queue manager worked fine. Thanks for the help. |

On the harsh-o-meter (where 10 is absolutely, unequivocally, harsh; and zero is absolutely devoid of harshness), I'd give you a 4.3. _________________ I like deadlines. I like to wave as they pass by.
