Hi...

I've a query. Can JMS do all the jobs which can be done by MQ? I mean, what are the points which make MQ important? I've to give a presentation and need to promote MQ as an ESB and Messaging technology. What are the points which make it better than other ESBs and JMS?
Please help!

JMS is an API, not a product.

To use the JMS API you need a JMS transport provider such as WMQ.

Thanks...
There are many JMS Transport providers... how is MQ better than those ones?

This is a different question than the one you orginally asked.

It's also a question best answered with reference to the sales documentation. Why is a Ford better than a Toyota? Is a Ford better than a Toyota in all circumstances? In any circumstances? Is a Honda better than them both?

If you want some soundbites, WMQ is:

- from IBM
- proven
- scaleable
- supported
- part of a larger product suite

WMQ has a very wide range of platforms supported.

Most large companies have esoteric platforms like z/OS, or OS/400 somewhere and you want an integration product to cover all of them.

I prefer Toyota myself...

But Ford is endorsed and supported by the USA government.
