Hi All,
I have received a particualr message Id in hex value in email. Can I use RFHUTIL to browse this particualr message by this message Id to see whether or not this message exists on the queue?
Can this be done by RFHUTIL?
Thanks,
James |

I think you can't directly search a msg with its MsgId on a queue with rfhutil. You need to browse each and every message with Rfhutil and compare the MsgId of that particular msg and compare it with your Msgid in your email. |

I think you can set the msgid in the MQMD tab and check the get by msgid option in the main tab.
It will be in the manual anyway. RFHUTIL can do most things that MQGET can do. |

Please give it a try and let us know. Would like to know whether rfhutil can do that.
Thanks. |

My copy doesn't let you edit the msgId field... |

How? In RHFUTIL, the msgId field in MQMD tab is read-only. |

Hi,
I have just tried with versions 5.0.5 and v 7 of rfhutil and i can pick the message based on message id. Just ensure that the Set All Context check box is ticked. This would make the MsgId an editable field.
As an aside when you do a browse the message cursor begins at the message that matches this msgid that you wish to browse.
Hope that helps |

Thanks for the workaround. The owner of this tool has fixed this problem, but not sure when the fix will be available on the IBM supportpac web site. The fix was, as soon as the "Get by Msg Id" is checked, the Message Id field will be editable right away. |
