Hi,
We had a recent installation of WMB 6.1 on AIX 5.3, and DB2 V9.1 with IBM's consulting help.
We will be using DB2 database only for Broker and no new user objects will be created on this instance. DB2 was installed with default authorizations expect for few changes. We cretaed different fs for log and log archive and changed the instance owner names as suggested by DBA.
Now, our DB2 DBA need to know what exact permissions are needed by MB and does not want to give any access to catlog tables.
I did find from the user log errors during startup that it requires select on
SYSTABLES , SQLTABLES,SYSPACKAGE
after the select was granted, I was able to start the broker without any errors and delploy a simple flow.
From the Docs under Configuring -> Authorizing access to DB , I did find
the below, but nothing specific to System Catalog tables .
db2 grant connect, createtab, bindadd, create_external_routine on
database to user mqsiuid
Does MB requires access to any other tables ?
Thanks |

Hi Mike,
I'm deploying the same setup myself(unlike you having the luxury of engaging IBM's help) except the versions are lower.
I did not find any other permissions to grant for MQSI id.
However right now i'm having problems deploying the message flow as i'm using a QM for each component. And the broker cant seemed to be detected in the CM's repository....

I really hate it when teams ask for details about the inner workings of a third party product:

To which You could try and respond with:
1) "I dont know its a third party product"
2) "Have a look Mr DBA at whats been granted, it needs those that came configured by IBM"
3) "I'll raise a PMR with IBM asking your question on your behalf"
Jason, your issue is a separate one and i've just noticed a new thread for it. I'll answer it in there...... |
