we have websphere MQ version 6 installed in and i applied fix pack 6.0.2.6. we are now planning to go to MQ version 7. we are also having Message Broker which is at version 6.0.0.3 we want to upgrade it to 6.1. my question to u guys is if we have MQ at version 7 – is it mandatory we upgrade MB as well – or will our current version of MB work with version 7 of MQ?

Check out the system requirements from the IBM site for WMB6.0 and WMBv6.1 if you want a definitive answer on what works with what.

AFAIK there's no problem running either WMBv6.0 or WMBv6.1 on WMQv7

MB V.6 still works with MQ version 7.

Its not mandatory. It depends on whether you want to use the features of MB 6.1.
