Hello all,

If I delete a re-create a broker with the same name, can I use the broker "old" db, or is better to drop it and create a new one?

Broker docs is not clear in http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/wmbhelp/v6r0m0/topic/com.ibm.etools.mft.doc/an04380_.htm

Thanks!

Thanks Gama!

but if after creating a new broker, with the same name, and do a restore of the broker db tables as suggested in the url, the restore will overwrite the entries related of this new broker, can this cause a problem?

If you have taken the broker database back up and followed the steps described in the documentation, then there should not be any problem. (I believe the old broker's DB was not corrupted -documentation clearly says to use different recovery method in case DB corrupt)

Thanks MQEnthu,

the documentation talks about restore "broker database tables" I believe in some of those tables, broker uuid is stored, so if a new broker is created, I have a new uuid. Can the broker run with tables belonging to a broker with the same name but different uuid?

I'd have thought so! the important question for me is why do you want to do this? I'm guessing its just to reinstall your flows and execution groups. Not all the broker config is in the DB eg JARs and ODBC username / passwords are on the file system. If its just to restore flows i'd recommend reinstalling them by your normal means and taking a new restore point of your DB then.
