Hi, experts.

Can I use these properties (MAXINST, MAXINSTC and Sharing Conversations) on channels at MQ v6?

Do MQ v6 have these settings?

Thx.

No, that's why they are called "new features" in V7.

Well, so ... How could it control connection number of single channel at MQ v6?

You can't - that control is a new feature of v7

Faint... You mean there's no method for controlling connection number of channel and port?

Then How can we deal with the problem of connection number exceeding the capability of OS port or channel?

So to avoid this overload, what should I do?

MAXACTIVE and MAXCHANNELs exist in v6.

but only for the entire qmgr, not for specific channels.

Capitalware's MQAUSX Exit has been doing this for us for years. Works great.

Hello,

Both MQSSX & MQAUSX support limiting the number of connections "per channel" on any version of MQ.
