Do you mean open source, or free to use?
MO71 has monitoring options.
Why would someone produce open source tools for a proprietary product? |

That's not sufficient a requirement to distinguish between the tools.
Any open source tool that can monitor whether a process exists, and can tail the contents of a log file can be said to "monitor MQ". |

You can monitor MQ through Nagios using scripts/modules.
Don't know about the best one. Our client is currently using a commercially packaged version of Nagios.
I'd be very interested to hear about people's experiences with other tools.

Why not?
I've been working with Tivoli/Omegamon, IBM's own product, which was somewhat of a disappointment. A lot of missing features, high price and a complicated setup. |

Nagios is also popular here. It is very flexible and cover a lot of products/systems, not only MQ |

this is infact a good question, when it comes to the decision , i am getting a lot of questions on here.
where i worked more on tivoli (my first crush) and BMC petrol.
So always point to these....doesn't have a good comparison document or
Pros and cons details where i can look in to. _________________ Regards
