Hello All,
I am having a Broker running on UAT server and it seems someone while deleting other queues have deleted 1 or 2 broker queues mistakenly. Right now its not creating any problem but I suspect once the broker is rebooted during weekend then we may have problem starting it back.
Can anybody please tell me when you create a message broker then what are all the queues gets created on its queue manager and what is their purpose and what all are highly important for proper functioning of the broker.
Any help would be highly appreciated
Regards,
Rahul |

have you already checked the broker documentation? e.g. the information center that can be found here? take one of the existing queues and perform a search. also the mqsicreatebroker command has a list of queues created..... _________________ Regards, Butcher |

It could be that you have a larger problem than just broker queues.
If someone has strted deleting SYSTEM.BROKER.xxxx then what other SYSTEM.yyy.xxx queues have also gone phut?
My advice would be to drop the broker & QM and recreate it all from the ground up using the scripts you should have.
Then I would get your security/top sysadmin to monitor who is doing what to the system.
I would also setup a batch job to run saveqmgr at regular periods(don't forget to include SYSTEM.xxx queues) and this way you can see when the queues were deleted.
On the other hand, it could just be someone who didn't know what they were doing ( a little knowledge is dangerous...)
All the SYSTEM.BROKER.xxx queues are created for a reason. They should exist as a complete set for broker to function properly. _________________ WMQ User since 1999

Every time you reinvent the wheel the more square it gets (anon). If in doubt think and investigate before you ask silly questions. |

I raised a change request to recreate the broker again during the weekend shutdown. Hopefully, everything will go fine.
Thank you very much for your help!

You might also want to look at your operational security procedures, to ensure that in the future people can't inadvertantly tamper with things they shouldn't. |
