Hi,
I am configuring a FileInput node to retrieve file from a FTP server.
In the command from infocenter, what is the difference between myidentity and myuserid? Are they not the same thing?
mqsisetdbparms MyBroker -n ftp::myidentity -u myuserid -p mypassword
thanks for any clarification.

myidentity is the name of the security profile, and what you will configure on the node in the flow.
myuser is the userid stored in the security profile with a name of myidentity.
They can be the same, but they don't have to be. |

Hi Jeff,
thank you so much for the concise explanation.
So by using a different name for security identity, we can hide the real userid, an added layer of security.

security identity is the the security profile which holds the authorised pair of user id and password for the FTP server .. _________________ -----------------------------------------------

The security identity enables you to use the same userid and password in several File flows, and later change the credentials (userid and/or password). For example, if you use some person's name as a userid, and they leave your company, you can change to another name without changing all your flows. _________________ Paul |
