We use the Reference datatype frequently. Often, we reference an xml field, and wildcard the namespace.

Declare header Reference To InputRoot.XMLNSC.*:env.*:header;

I am not aware of any problems. However, I was wondering, should we have any concerns referencing using wild carding?

Thanks!

The answer depends entirely on factors which are specific to your ( or your customer's ) technical environment. For some users, wildcarding the namespaces might be a dangerous practice. For others, it will be completely harmless ( although I doubt whether it actually saves very much time ). There are some situations where it would be a good technical solution.

I suggest that you research the matter yourself, and decide whether the namespaces which you deal with are conveying important information.
