Is it possible to seperate the questions/problems that could successfully solved thru the forum in seperate category.
For example, I had a problem with webspeher e console, but I could resolve the problem. Is it possible to put different flag so that others will know that the problem was resolved successfully.

Surely the simplest method is to post a reply indicating that you have found a solution and outlining it for the benefit of others who may encounter similar problems. _________________ Bob Buxton

Thanks. Atleast I do put a response saying that I found the answer. But my point is by looking at the topic one can not say whether a solution has been reached or not. I do agree that the person who is interested need to go thru all the messages. However,it would be easy to add an icon at the title of the topic to indicate that the topic has a valid solution.
Thanks again |

However, that would require someone (like myself) going through every single post and seeing if it has been "solved" in which case I can affix the appropriate icon. And putting this responsibility on the author of the original question gets us right back to square one, because as Bob points out, whether it's adding an icon or creating a new post, the user is expected to do something - and that's usually too much to expect
I do like your idea however; but I think the best way to implement it would be to have enough admins that we can manager to cover all the posted topics in a timely manner. Right now it's just Neil and myself, and we both have day jobs - so it might be a while before we can manage it... _________________ Brandon Duncan

Brandon,
I fear I can not agree with you that user would not update a field or something. If the user is reponsible or courteous enough to inform that the issue has been resolved, I am sure he/she would update it with an icon/field to change its status. However, you are the best judge given the amound of work you do in your limited time. |
