All,
When I try to install MQ 5.3 on Solaris 8 (SUN SPARC), I get the following error.
## Executing checkinstall script.
ERROR: Product cannot be installed until the license
agreement has been accepted.
Run the 'mqlicense' script, which is in the root
directory of the install media, or see the
Quick Beginnings book for more information.
pkgadd: ERROR: checkinstall script did not complete successfully
Installation of <mqm> failed.
No changes were made to the system.
Also have executed mqlicense.sh before the pkgadd. This creates the status.dat in /tmp/mq_license/license/.
I have checked the status.dat file for its existence as is being checked by the checkinstall script and it does exist.
Have also tried unpacking in /tmp as has been mentioned in another post.
Thanking all of U in advance for U'r responses.
Rgds

Hi,
I would like to know if you're running Solaris 8 in 64-bit mode.

Kiranu,
I ran into the same problem, are you using sudo??
They way I was able to overcome this issues was by changing the directory permissions to rwxrwxrwx (chmod -R 0777 /tmp/mq_license).
I then executed the pkgadd, and presto it worked .
Also remember that you need to run the installation script as root (mqlicense). _________________ Fernando Acosta
