Software Systems Engineer
Overview: The Software Systems Engineer is responsible for development and support of message flows developed in Message Broker. Analyze business requirements to provide technical solutions. Work closely with Business and IS Clients on all aspects of the development. Incorporate error handling; define monitoring criteria and alerts procedures for the flows/services developed. Create and maintain documentation and information on the tools needed to support WebSphere Message Broker. This individual is responsible for developing message flows and formats; for developing mediations in the Enterprise Service Bus (ESB); for performance tuning and monitoring of the flows; and for development of production support processes and tools.
Job Functions
•Work with Business area and provide Technical solutions to business
problems.
•Develop message flows to provide application integration solutions.
•Develop mediations for ESB.
•Develop scripts when necessary
•Develop formats using MRM, XML Schema and WTX.
•Provide metrics related to EAI technologies.
•Write functional specifications, detailed design, and support documents.
•Develop and maintain an in-depth knowledge of middleware technologies.
•Provide daily support for message flows/services and participate in an On-Call rotation.
•Define monitoring criteria, event alerts and self-repair automation procedures.
•Define, maintain and improve standards and processes for WMB and related tools.
Experience and Skills
•Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Business Admin. / equivalent experience.
•Minimum of five years of working experience in IT/IS with knowledge of various programming languages, platforms.
•Working experience of Unix platforms.
•Experience in using MQSeries.
•Working experience in at least one programming language, preferably Java or C++.
•Understanding of Service-Oriented Architecture.
•Proficiency in one scripting language. (shell scripting, Perl, or VBScript).
•Knowledge of Enterprise monitoring tools such as QPasa and HPOpenView.
•Experience in performance tuning of middleware applications.
•Working knowledge of XML.

•Communication skills / Teamwork / IT Project Control / Analytical skills /Troubleshooting skills / Ability to learn existing systems quickly
