Hi All,
I have imported a Copybook, and now trying to create a message which has around 2000 elements. whenever i'm trying to create a compound type ie. trying to add all the elements(which are imported from copybook) in a new compound type it gives me the following error: BIP0001E Control Center is near to run out of memory(209 MB used). so, as per the advice i exit the control center and start it again. still i experience the same problem.
i have few questions please;
1. what is the max size of the message i can create?
2. Can i reorder elements(2000) as per the requirement?
as per my experience, previously i had tough time to reorder 100 element ie. in MQSI 2.0.2. Now i'm working on WMQI 2.1.
Thanks in Advance... |

Hi,
Didn't your types get created when you imported the cobol copylib? Or are you just now trying to use those to create a different message? Anyway, there are some settings you can tune on your pc and on the pc where WMQI is installed. I think one had to do with java virtual memory, sorry my techs handled this. Another tip I was given was to have as little in your workspace as possible. Is it possible to build smaller types and then add all the smaller types into one big type? This way you can reorder on a smaller scale. I don't know what your machine is but I ended up getting one with 1 gig of memory and a gig processor. This helped tremendously but things are still slow at times.
Good luck!

The amount of memory the CC requires gets larger with each new release...Gigs of MIPs and Memory seem to be essential....is your DB2 on a different machine to where you are running the Control Centre? |

Hi,
I'm currently having the same problem. My DB is on the same workstation as my CC. Also, I only have 512K of RAM. I'm currently checking elements out in very small amounts!

hi all,
yes when imported copybook types are created and using that types i'm trying to create a message... i do have gig processor.. even then it is very slow... now what i do is divide that big compound type into 6 compound types and then create a message...
let's see how it works....
Thanks for ur responses... |

I think Memory is possibly more important than MIPs....running the CC on a workstation where there is no DB2 will help a bit. |

I have 512M RAM on my machine, I tried increasing the JVM Heapsize of Control Center to 384 MB, but WMQI CC never goes beyond 256MB I get an error saying it's running out of memory and I should restart the app. While working on large messagesets, I try to keep minimal messagesets/msgflows into my workspace, this helps a little! _________________ Kiran
