I created a QMGR in Windows Explorer, of which I set to Automatic Startup, and to connect automatically, however when I look at the Connection Status, it tells me "Disconnected". When I right click and specify "connect" on the qmr name I get the following error:

"Explorer cannot adminster the queue manager because the user is not authorised to open the queue 'SYSTEM.MQEXPLORER.REPLY.MODEL'. (AMQ4401)."

In the event viewer I see:

Entity "my user id" has insufficient authority to access object 'SYSTEM.MQEXPLORER.REPLY.MODEL'

The specified entity is not authorized to access the required object. The following requested permissions are unauthorized: inq

Ensure that the correct level of authority has been set for this entity against the required object, or ensure that the entity is a member of a priviledged broup.

-----

Would this imply that my user ID that I am attempting to connect the qmgr is not a member of the mqm group? Or does this imply that I need to set permissions to the SYSTEM.MQEXPLORER.REPLY.MODEL queue?

Any assistance would be appreciated. Thank you!

It indeed implies you need to do/be one or the other. I would put it to you that, if you intend to use the administrative GUI, you would be best served by being a member of the administrative group.

Vitor, That was what I was assuming. However, with my ID, I was able to install the Software, and create the QMGR. If I am capable of doing that, then what do you think my problem is, would you suspect that I would not be authorized to perform that? I am capable of doing a runmqsc against the qmgr.

Also, I confirmed with my Windows Admin, that my id is indeed a member of the administrative group.

Which is not the same as the mqm group.

Also if your id is a domain id (or the WMQ services are running under a domain id), you may have some issues with authentication. If you search the forum, you'll find this discussed a lot.
