I know that the 'WebSphere MQ for Solaris Quick Beginnings Version 6.0' document says that the minimum OS level of Solaris is 5.8.
However, I'm wondering if anyone has tried to install 6.0 on a Solaris 5.7 box? And if so, is it running succesfully?
We're nearing completion of our MQ upgrades to 6.0 (I know, finally!!!). We have one remaining production box running Solaris 5.7 (on an Ultra 80) and there are currently no plans to upgrade Solaris on this box. _________________ Yeah, well, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man. - The Dude |

Nevermind.
I found an old dev server running 5.7 and tried to install it. The script checks the OS level and won't let you install. Oh well...

Then you won't have that piece installed. That shouldn't be a problem.
I usually install 1-5, when space allows, but I've installed as little as 1 & 4 when I've been short on disk space and have no problems. _________________ Yeah, well, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man. - The Dude |
