Are there any issues migrating from MQ 5.1 directly to 6.0 on a solaris box?
Or would I be better off migrating to 5.3 and then to 6.0?

IMHO you'd use the same process to go v5.1 -> v6.0 that you would to go v5.1-> v5.3.
