Hi Guys,

Is there any tool in z/os we can test our MQ scripts? Like in unix/windows we have runmqsc -v QMGR < script.txt. Let me know if IBM providing something free(support pack) or something available in market.

there is not such a tool in z/OS that comes with MQSeries.
CSQUTIL - that you probably use to run the define alter delete ... comamnds has no verify option.

i suggest you use a test queuemanager to run your scripts checking if the syntax is correct, or use object templates created from csqutil makedef commands to make sure the attributes you use are all correct.

i do not know of a third party software that performs this function. of course there is configuration management software available for MQ, and they may be able to check or import CSQUTIL stuff, but in that case it will only be an add on toa very expensive software i guess.

I use templates. once you proved they are correct, you are fine with them.

Unfortunately, MS0S will only validate the structure of the MQSC, and not the contents of individual fields. So it's not a full replacement for runmqsc -v.

Currently.

Please be careful when running your scripts for validation on a test queue manager especially when you are on the same network. It can be dangerous if you are using real hostnames.
