How can i confirm that there are uncommitted messgaes in a queue using MQAPI for java.

Clearing uncommitted messages is an administrative task not an application one. An application must ignore uncommitted messages, because they shouldn't be processed until they've not been rolled back.

They're only a problem if they're not committed or rolled back, and just sit there. At this point the administrator steps in.

I agree with Vitor that it is odd for an application to want to know this.

But there is a parameter called UNCOM associated with a queue - search the docs for more info.
