In UNIX /AIX box, I need to migrate to runmqlsr listener.
1.Commended the QMGR entries on inetd and services part.
2.started the runmqlsr with nohup.
Noticed that runmqlsr is not running.
Is it required to do port entries on qm.ini files.?.
What else need to take care to make runmqlsr listener needs to work on UNIX?.

You need to pass the right parms to runmqlsr:
like runmqlsr -m QMGR -p 1414
in the manuals _________________ MQ & Broker admin |

Not saper, Its not parameter issue, that am sure.
I can seen it its running for a few sec, then dying out.(mqm user id)
nohup runmqlsr -m QMGR -t TCP -p 1515 &
My doubt is any where else need to change when we moving from inetd to runmqlsr service. _________________ Jain Varghese |

refresh inetd - usually a request to the Unix admin , but you mentioned you can update the inetd.conf and service file, so you can probably run the refresh command too.
Thanks |

And once you upgrade to a supported version of MQ, you will be able to make the listener an object that the Queue Manager controls directly, meaning you will no longer even need to issue those runmqlsr and endmqlsr commands. _________________ Peter Potkay

Peter,
You mean to use define listener in runmqsc way or some thing else. _________________ Jain Varghese |

Yes, in runmqsc, as soon as the qmgr has been created:
define listener(MQGBT1.LISTENER) trptype(TCP) replace +
control(QMGR) port(1414) _________________ Glenn |
