If I change the MaxChannels or MaxActiveChannels do I need to restart the qmgr ?

Hate this. When you have to bump max channels, its usually cause you've hit max channels, so new connections can't get in. And so to fix it you have to knock everybody out that is already connected as well to restart the QM. This should be a dynamic field, or at least one that can be picked up by issuing some magic refresh command. I'll add it to the wish list.
MQ Security used to be the same way, and that was fixed in MQ 5.3, so maybe MQ Version X will allow for this. _________________ Peter Potkay

On z/OS this is a QMgr attribute. It should be solved in the same way for distributed platforms. _________________ Regards
