Facts:
We have 2 qmgrs (MQ 6.0.2.4) on 2 seperate virtual machines.
These 2 virtual machines are copied completely at regular times to an offsite location.
This so in case of a disaster we can start them (machines and qmgrs) up again.
Problem is that the messages that are on the qmgrs while the backup was taken shouldn't be executed anymore but are still there.
I can remove the messages manually by starting the qmgrs without starting chl and lstr and then removing the messages, but isn't there a way that I can start the qmgrs and at the same time clear the current messages/logs that are present on that qmgr? (Persistent and non-persistent)
Even more info is neaded. I will be happy providing it.
No way around it. A restore will give you what you backed up.
I guess your DR procedures are going to have to include steps that prevent the apps from using MQ until you give the all clear that MQ is ready.
Would be kinda neat to be able to start a QM in Admin Mode, huh? That way an MQ Admin can check things out without any apps being able to connect until the MQ Admin flips the switch. _________________ Peter Potkay
