Hi Folks,

I have a Local queue on HP-UX created as the output Queue of message Broker and the Q depth is 5,000(Default one).
I want to increase the Maxdepth of Queue .
Is it possible to alter the MAXDEPTH property of a queue while the DataFlowEngine process is running on it ..Or Do i need to stop and start the message broker ?

Thanx in Advance!
Rahul

Yes, that is possible since the application (WMB in this case) isn't aware of MAXDEPTH.
Other modifications such as changing a QL to a QA etc should only involve restarting the message flow...not the whole broker.

HI Gs,

Thanx for your reply ?

You mentioned u can change queue from Local to Alias and restart the message flows instead of starting the whole broker.

But, I do not have Toolkit access , all I have is a prodcution system on HP-UX where the message broker and the flows are running.
Is it possible to restart the flows without the help of toolkit.

Thanx
Rahut

I believe there is an mqsistopmsgflow command. However, I can't get the InfoCenter up to confirm.

Just searched here:

One more question ..

I have a message broker running in HP-UX production ...how can I clear the WBIMB Output queues without stopping the message broker/flows.
We got a production issue in which we asked to clear the MB output queues, but as Message broker process was running on this queue so when I tried to give CLEAR command it says "Object in use"
Any suggestion ..
plese note we can't use RFFUTIL on windows to connect to HP UX server..because of security concerns.

Thanx,
Rahul

I thought there was an option in the WMQ Explorer to clear a queue by getting the messages which will work if the queue is open.

For clearing the queue, you'll have to isse MQGET through your favourite command...supportpac MA01 maybe? The queue is in a open state due to the running message flow, thus you cannot do a clear.

You really ought to move this forward to a supported version of the product.
