Is there any advantage to use WMQ version 7 clients with a WMQ version 6 queue manager?

I am thinking of the JMS enhancements for example - would they happen with a v7 client and a V6 queue manager?

Recommendations for client level on a new install? (Given a v6 QM)

The new features which are available for a version 7.0 client connected to a version 6.0 queue manager are:

o Weighted selection on CLNTCONN channels.

o Reconnecting via a previously used channel.

o Maximum message length increased on MQSERVER environment variable.

It's a useful piece of work, and there's detailed discussion of how you can use a channel table file with MQ 7 client to do "load balancing" between servers, rather than "fail-over".

Lots of good stuff on the new pub/sub verbs and other enhancements too.
