I am new to Websphere Message Broker.I have an urgent requirement of EDI messages need to transformed and modified using WMB.How can we do that.Do I need to have WTX or can be transformed using message sets.

You can't jump in the pool and start swimming if you don't know swimming. You have to go thro' at least one tutorial on how to import message definitions from .C or XML etc. If you know XML define your messages and import them..

What EDI messages are you talking about? ANSI X12 or SAP EDI format?

I suggest that you contact the IBM Dublin team ( email dubadapt@ie.ibm.com ). They may well have a ready-made solution.

As Kimbert said check with the Dublin team. They have an ANSI X12 adapter... You will have to see if that works for you.

There is a sample X12 project available with the broker. I had used it to understand how to model X12-810 based on that. Its a good place to start. If your app's deals with lots of X12 messages, then its better to go for an EDI adapter.
