We have successfully run WMQ 5.3 on AIX 5L. We have found it stable and works well (we have not deployed it into production). We have taken the decision to support only 5.3 on AIX 5L (as a mechanism to get MQ upgraded when boxes get upgraded to 5L rather than there being a problem with 5.2 on 5L).

Also 5.3 comes with Java rather than having a separate support pack to install.
