Hi all, when I use Candle or Omegamon whatever its named, clicking "view descrepencies" in the "Defined view" I find the generated listing of queues a total mess. It would be nice to be able to sort it by queue name or type of inconsistency just to mention a few.

In my case I find that many of these descripencies are related to queues which in their properties (authorization) have invalid user names or groups.

Is it possible to "wash" all these invalid names and groups away? Because I know that only one user should be listed there for all queues.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Erik

Unfortunately, you can't update just some properties through "update x from y" where x & y is defined or actual. Also, AFAICR it's not possible to mass-set properties on multiple objects.
I'd do a proper run-through of all the queues on the qmgr and then use resource groups to section resources into smaller, more manageable units.

There are so many features lacking in Omegamon although it's IBM's own tool.

thanks gs for sharing your thoughts. It is not an understatement to state that this tool seems to have a lot of improvement potential

You could also experiment with an XML export of your objects. Modify the XML file and then import it back. That way you can do search/replace on the attributes.
