Does anyone know if there is a means to install the client (Linux x86_64 or any unix for that matter) into an alternate location other than /opt/mqm/? Just copying the shared libraries to a different location doesnt help as the libraries themselves attempt to link back into /opt/mqm or /usr/lib.
Well for starters its not very easy to manage when it's installed locally on dozens if not hundreds of machines. Almost every other piece of linux client software we have is deployed on a shared filesystem. Other than the OS, it's been at least several years since I've seen software that doesn't let you choose where you want to install it.
Thanks Peter, and yes your assumption is correct. I'm not looking to alias /opt/mqm/ but specify a different location all together. I would think that someone in Hursely would know of the environment variables to set before doing the install to accomplich this. If not then this would be a good idea going forward.
