Hi All,

We are supporting few client softwares which are built upon MQ. Each of this product installs a set of shell scripts, perl scripts, exits and executables(C application) for working with MQ on Solaris. I need to give time estimate for porting one such product to Linux.

Could you please help me in giving time estimate for

1. Porting a Shell script from Solaris to Linux.
These scripts are of medium complexity (little more than simple scripts). So, am thinking of giving estimate of 1 day for a script of 200 lines.
2. Porting a C program.
I am thinking of giving estimate of 1 day for 1000 lines of code.

I also have searched in internet but didn't get satisfactory material.

Information on any of the following would be useful to me. Please, help.
Links for useful document
Any thing to be taken care of
Efficient way of doing this activity
Any known issues
Any related information

TIA,
Kalpana

all the scripts/programs have to re-verified and checked before porting to Linux servers, doesnt mean that all will run and give exact results.

better do all these on a Sandbox and find out which scripts are having issues/to be manipulated etc etc.

Once the executables are ready, you can directly port in to new Linux servers.
