Hi
I have to write an MRM message to a mainframe PL1 application which contains a PL1 decimal fixed(31,8) field.

in CWF physical poperties I would use:

Physical Type: Packed Decimal
Length Count: 16
Length Units: Bytes
- Signed
Virtual Decimal Point: 8


However the toolkit says that the maximum length count is 10 for packed decimal.

I don't understand why this is limited to 10 bytes or is there another method to use such a large packed decimal field?

I expect the validation checks the range of the field's logical type. What is the logical type of your field? e.g. xs:int / xs:long etc

Interesting, I was using float. Now I've tried a few other like: int / long / decimal / integer, but no way to increase maximum length count to more than 10.
