Hi, experts,
I am looking forward your ideas on perfomance using multiple brokers instead using single broker with 20 execution groups.I also prefer to know you real experiences in this regard.
thanks

Pav,
I'm not an expert in this theme, but I don't think multiple brokers give better performance. Why? All execution group is an isolated process (DataFlowEngine, DFE) launched by the broker service process (bipbroker). So when you create and start an other broker, you will get a new bipbroker process plus a certain number of DFE processes dependig by your execution group definitions.
A real advantage: multiple brokers locating on multiple servers... but this is very costly.

Hi,
thanks for ur info Tiber.
I am in the process of making a decision on environment set up with 20 execution groups. As I already had a broker with 8 EG, looking at best environment set up considering performance affects on sigle broker with 20 EG with respective to multiple broker. Any kind of suggestions and inputs are appreciated.

Look out for CPU affinity being set on as default in 2.0.1 - you can turn it off with an environment variable. |
