In my current integration project one the data feeds is coming from a system that sends data using UDP multicast. Can we use WMQ V6 do integrate capture this feed?
I went through the infocenter on the same but it returned very little of use. _________________ Shalabh

ISTR that Message Broker can handle this, but don't hold me to it. It may only support multicast output. _________________ Cheers,

If memory serves, UDP was supported at v5.
I found this in the WMQ V6 Intercommunications manual:
Changes for this edition (SC34–6587–00) The changes to this edition of WebSphere MQ Intercommunication include:
v Information relevant only to unsupported versions of MQSeries® has been removed.
...
v Information on the UDP transport type has been removed, as UDP is no longer supported.
v As the transport-retry exit applied only to UDP, information on this has been removed. _________________ I like deadlines. I like to wave as they pass by.

Yes, but that was only as a transport type for MQ-to-MQ channels, not MQ to other products. In fact, MQ does not support any network protocols to other products.
A bridge program would need to be written to read the UDP feed and generate MQ messages. _________________ Glenn |
