Hi Guys,
I am on MQ v.6 and OS SunOS.

I have 2 QMgrs, QM1 and QM2 in a cluster called CLUSTER1.

I have a cluster queue, CLUSTERQ1.QM1 defined on the QMgr QM1.

i.e.,
QM1...QMgr
CLUSTERQ1.QM1.....cluster queue on QM1

I am trying to put and get the msg onto the cluster queue, CLUSTERQ1.QM1 from Queue Manager QM2.

cd /opt/mqm/samp/bin

./amqsput CLUSTERQ1.QM1 QM2

the above command is successful..which means I am able to put the msg successfully.

the issue is here:

when I try to get the msg from the cluster queue CLUSTERQ1.QM1 from the queue manager QM2, its throwing 2085 error...

./amqsget CLUSTERQ1.QM1 QM2

Question:
Is it possible to get the msg from a cluster queue which is defined on a different queue manager(CLUSTERQ1.QM1 is actually defined on QM1 but I am trying to get the msg from QM2)?.

Why there is NO issue in putting the msg onto a cluster queue from a different queue manager(which is part of cluster) and why is the issue in getting the msg from the cluster queue from a different queue manager?.

Thanks.

While you may MQPUT a message to any qmgr in your network; MQGET calls are local to the queue manager where the message lives. This is working as designed and documented.

Yes, if it is part of a cell.

No, this is entirely irrelvant. There is no such notion in WebSphere MQ as a "cell".

DO not mix the concepts of MQ and WAS...

there's nothing called cell in MQ... we use the term node in MQ which is somewhat synonymous with cell
