Why do we test a TDE configuration by issuing a ping at the broker server?. Is it because the broker server knows the source and destination for the file transfer. Therefore when we issue a ping the messages should travel from the broker to the source or to the destination depending on how we specify the ping command. Is this the reason?. Or is it because it is much easier to troubleshoot the problem this way as in ping from broker to the source queue manager then from broker to the destination queue manager?.
