I was told that WAS is MQ. What is WAS actually?. Is it a server or a software that connects to MQ/TDE?.

Oh my god!!

WAS stands for Websphere Application Server where one deploys Java /J2EE applications. Ofcourse, these Java programs can make calls to MQ (like any normal Java Programs)

So basically I can have an application that talks to WAS and WAS will talk to MQ/TDE?. How many connections can an application make to WAS or how many connections can WAS make to MQ/TDE?. Also can WAS be called a middleware?.

Did u check IBM site for this ??? or rather did u google about it...

I am sure you will get thousands of results giving relation/identity of WAS & MQ...

I did google and found unrelated results. But now knowing the full definition of WAS, google gave me related results.
