Hi,
We have a Windows server with multiple triggered applications (written in .NET). The server is really short of resources and management is planning to migrate everything into 2 servers.
The first server will host the MQ Server on a Unix box and the second server will be a Windows server which will host all the applications.
Is it possible to trigger the applications that are hosted on a different server (maybe through some for of mapping or mounting; or any other means)
Has anyone dealt with such a situation?
As a sidenote: One possible solution would be to change all the applications to use polling. However that is an option we would like to avoid |

Take a look at the MA7K Support Pack. I think you'll find its exactly what you need: A Client Trigger monitor that runs as a Windows Service. _________________ Peter Potkay

Thank you Peter.
Although I have another quick question. Do you know if this product has been well tested? Since there is no warranty for this product, and we plan to use this in production, it would be nice to know if anyone has used it in their production environment successfully. |

Other people use MA7K in production, yes... and the current maintainer is very helpful as I understand it.
It has not been updated to MQ v7 yet. I'm sure the maintainer would love to hear from people who have requirements for that...
On the other hand, if warranty is your primary concern, the MQ Client comes with runmqtrc, which is the client version of runmqtrm. |

We've been using it in Production for years. The original author and current maintainer are pretty knowledgeable, so I wouldn't worry about its stability or functionality. _________________ Peter Potkay

We use it in production too. No issues with it at all....wish I could say the same for the applications it triggers! |
